College Production

Launceston College has a proud history of high quality musical theatre productions in a professional environment.

Since 2003, the College has staged a large scale musical at the Princess Theatre in Launceston.

Any student can be involved in the Production. Students wishing to participate need to enrol in Musical Theatre as one of their subjects - the course runs on one line until the middle of Term 3; students then have this line off as a study line.

The College Production is a great way for students to develop their skills in acting, dancing, singing, musicianship, technical theatre and performance in a professional environment.

However, being involved in a production of this size also gives students the chance to develop much more than this. Teamwork, resilience, commitment and responsibility are needed from all members of the cast and crew in order for the Production to work and it is these skills that we encourage in all members of the ensemble.

Production is also a great way to meet new people, make new friends and develop your confidence!

Dance Fever

Launceston College annually stages a two hour, combined schools dance spectacular. 2020 will be the thirteenth year of Dance Fever and the show continues to grow in popularity and acclaim. Students enrolled in Dance Performance become part of the core cast for this highly successful show. The production involves around 200 students from primary and high schools around Launceston, as well as the College.

Culminating in a show at the Door of Hope students experience a wide variety of dance styles and genres.

Relevant

Relevant is a theatre company whose primary objective is creating relevant theatre works in a professional environment for the benefit of the Launceston community, and past and present students of Launceston College.

Works are created with the aim of moving our past performing arts students into the professional sector by entering works in festivals such as The Junction Arts Festival and competitions including The Tasmanian Theatre Awards.
