Students can discuss future pathways and learning options with their Home Group and Subject teachers. The Futures Room is located in the library, where students can access personalised support from staff and a dedicated Futures Networker.
In the Futures Room, students can receive guidance on subject choices, recommended pathways aligned to future aspirations, and post-school options such as TAFE, UTAS, and mainland universities. Students are also supported with writing resumes and job applications, finding part-time, casual or full-time employment, exploring School-Based Apprenticeships, full Apprenticeships and Traineeships, as well as alternative pathways including gap years and volunteering.
Students also have access to local support services and recruitment agencies, networking opportunities, guest speakers from a range of industry areas, career counselling, and work experience placements.
Additionally, UTAS representatives are available on site twice a week to provide direct advice and support, and a member of the DECYP Apprenticeship Team visits weekly to assist students exploring vocational pathways.
